Hotel Review: The Seminyak Suite Private Villa, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

Hotel Review: The Seminyak Suite Private Villa, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

Just got a chance to write my last stay at The Seminyak Suite Bali in August 2013.

Value For Money: 8/10
It's private. The whole resort is quite small hence I would call it a boutique resort. There are only a couple private villas in the area.

Location: 8/10
Well it is located in Seminyak, specifically Jalan Raya Seminyak. However, I like to stay at a hotel where I could go out at night to see the crowds within a walking distance. This hotel does not provide that. I think it's not really located in the most hip area of Seminyak where we can find great restaurants.

Breakfast: 8.5/10
The breakfast was just OK. Nothing too special to remember.

Villa Quality: 9/10
We stayed at a two bedroom villa with a private pool. I was very happy with the design of the villa, the cleanliness, and the sleep quality in the bedroom. The bathroom as so huge that I think it feels so empty. They could have put some interesting stuffs inside the bathroom.

Staffs: 10/10

Very happy with the staff. Satisfying service and always helpful in tending our needs.

Facilities: 7/10

Nothing much. Our stay was entirely revolved inside the villa.

Would I recommend you to stay at this hotel?
Yes if you can find a good deal on this hotel. Otherwise, I would choose somewhere closer to the Seminyak upscale restaurant scenes.

My Overall Rating on This Hotel:
8.5 / 10

Hotel Review: Amadea Resort & Villas, Seminyak, Bali

Hotel Review: Amadea Resort & Villas, Seminyak, Bali

This is one of the hotels I stayed during my Bali Hotel Hopping last July 2014. Me and my family stayed at a 4 bedroom villa with a private pool for 2 nights before we left Bali. To me, Amadea Resort & Villas at Seminyak is another boutique villa resort located in Seminyak. It's quite small and I think it consists of a few more than 7 villas and also there are some hotel rooms at the back of the lobby area.

The lobby area itself is not located at the front of the property. We have to walk tak a boogey ride provided by the hotel to the back of the property to reach the lobby.

Location: 10/10
For the location, since I wanted to be in the middle of Seminyak bustling shopping area, Amadea is perfect. Just across the streets we can find a lot of great restaurants to fulfill our gastronomical cravings of mostly Western and Fusion foods. Not too far away from the hotel, within a walking distant, we can find a lot of small shops and we can also walk to Seminyak Square where we can find more shops and restaurants.

Hotel Staffs: 8/10
I can't say a lot about the hotel staffs since I didn't get into contact with them too much. However, it's safe to say that they're very friendly, helpful, and love to smile. They tried to give us an origami from the towels that shaped like ducks, it's very thoughtful of them and my little cousins were excited about it.

Breakfast: 7/10
The breakfast is quite basic and not a lot of variety. Nothing too special about it and I have had better breakfasts provided by a villa resort like this.

Price: 9/10
The price is very reasonable given the fact that our villa is very huge and actually if we wanna squeeze in more people it might be possible.

Villa Quality: 8/10
Of course Amadea is not as luxurious as other hotels I stayed in (W Villas and Sofitel). The building specifications of the villa I can tell that it's not too great and it's pretty basic. Probably they can improve the villas by providing better and more interior designs and furnitures. The atmosphere of the villa feels a bit empty and cold. The private swimming pool is awesome though, the size is just right.

Value for Money: 8/10
It's alright. I might come back bringing a group of friends to stay at this hotel. The value for money is quite reasonable. But, I am not sure if I will come back here again since there are a lot of other villas within the price range and quality that I want to try in Bali. So I guess I won't be staying at this hotel anytime soon.

Would I recommend this Hotel?
Hmm, I wouldn't go telling people to go to Bali and must stay at this Villa. But if people ask me whether the villa is alright, the two words that would come to mind are "DECENT ENOUGH".

Hotel Review: Sofitel Nusa Dua Beach Resort, Bali, Indonesia

Hotel Review: Sofitel Nusa Dua Beach Resort, Bali, Indonesia

May I just say the first word that came out of my mouth when I entered the lobby and to the reception area? "WOW"...... I loved the ambiance and the design of the common areas in this hotel. It feels so elegant and luxurious. I also like the fact that Sofitel is a French themed hotel since all hotel staffs always greet us with a "bonjour" instead of "good morning/afternoon/night".

Value For Money: 10/10
For an upscale hotel like Sofitel, the money is well spent since we all get the perfect ambiance, awesome feelings, complete resort facilities, and great hotel room and bathroom.

Price: $$$$$
Like any other upscale hotel in Nusa Dua Bali, the hotel room costs us more than IDR 2 million.

Location: 10/10
It is located in Nusa Dua BTDC (Bali Tourism Development Centre). It's away from the bustling and over crowded Kuta or Legian area of Bali. It's the upscale and more luxurious and quite part of Bali. If you want a quieter time in Bali and got some more money saved in your bank account to afford any hotel in this area, Sofitel is definitely a must try. Sofitel is also located straight by the beach which means you can get to the beach directly from your hotel. It's also very well located and is very accessible from Tanjung Benoa, Uluwatu, Pecatu, or even Jimbaran.

Breakfast: 10/10
The breakfast restaurant is awesome. It's very big with many different chambers of different kind of foods. I think from my two morning breakfasts here, I saw at least Indonesian, Indian, Japanese, English, and French cuisines. The quality of the breakfast is also awesome.

Room Quality: 9/10
Our rooms were on the first floor which gives us direct access into the swimming pool from our balcony. It means we could go directly swimming in the pool right from our hotel room and the come back to our hotel room by swimming back, it's one of the greatest experience or feeling. The room size is also quite great with the awesome quality of beds. However, the bathroom was almost perfect for me except the fact that the water could get out of the shower area into the bedroom area which we withheld with some stacks of towels on the floor.

Staffs: 10/10
Staffs are very courteous, helpful, friendly, informative, respectful, and love to smile. At some point, in my mind I was thinking that they must be given some sort of great training everyday to act and serve that well.

Facilities: 10/10
Like any upscale resport, it has huge and well designed swimming pool, direct access to the beach, great lobby, great hotel room, etc. However, I need to mention that they have absolutely great lounge that feels a lot like a library to me. I was so ecstatic about it since I wanted to spend some of my times there reading great books that they have.

Would I recommend you to stay at this hotel?
Yes, ABSOLUTELY..... Sofitel Nusa Dua Beach Resort is one of the hotels you should save money for :)

Hotel Review: W Spa & Retreat, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

Hotel Review: W Spa & Retreat, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

I had a one night stay at a two bedroom villa here at W Spa & Retreat Hotel at the end of July 2014. Generally, W Hotel is an upscale hotel located in Seminyak, Bali, and in my opinion it is one of the best luxury hotel in Seminyak and probably one of the most well known among Indonesian or international tourists. It's a beachfront hotel which means that you can go directly to the beach from the resort. There is a big swimming pool area close to the beach.

Value For Money: 10/10
If you want some great time in a luxury resort where you can enjoy a walk on the beach, good quality breakfast, awesome swimming pool to relax, great amazing hotel personnels, high quality of sleep, and various other luxury hotel or villa facilities, then I recommend this hotel for you.

Price: $$$$$
Of course this is not for those who are on a tight budget since it may cost a lot to stay at a luxury hotel like W Spa & Retreat Seminyak.

Location: 9/10
It is located in Seminyak where you could find a lot of store outside the hotel. It's pretty far to walk from the lobby or rooms or villas to the main street. However, the hotel provides boogey cart that you can take freely to get to the main road.

Breakfast: 9/10
The breakfast at the restaurant is so great. There are a lot of options from Classic English breakfast to Japanese sushi to Indonesian delicacies.... The atmosphere at the breakfast restaurant is also awesome giving me one of the best feeling during a morning breakfast by the beach.

Villa Quality: 9/10
The villa is awesome but it's pretty common which means that I have been to villas like this somewhere else in Bali. It has a small pool which is also common in any private villa in Bali.

Staffs: 10/10
I really think they deserve the 5 star quality acknowledgement due to their quality of staffs. Each and everyone I met was very friendly and loves to smile and also was very helpful.

Would I recommend you to stay at this hotel?
Yes, ABSOLUTELY..... But only if you got some money saved in your bank account :)

Hotel Review: The Haven Bali Seminyak

Hotel Review: The Haven Bali Seminyak

My most recent stay at February 20 - 22, 2013

The room I stayed in: Suite Room (1 bedroom with livingroom)

What do I have to say about the hotel?

Location: 8.5/10
I think the location is pretty good since it's located in Kuta Legian where the crowd is at in Bali. But for some people, this place is getting increasingly more crowded, hence, some people choose not to stay at this area.

Value to Price: 9/10
I think the price is suitable for the quality that we get. It's not too expensive and considerably cheap according to my point of view.

Rooms: 9/10
The room is quite big especially the living room area (if you book the unit with a livingroom). It's clean, tidy, and comfortable. The living room has flat TV with cable and dining area and also a clean kitchen with a fridge. Interestingly, the bathroom in my room didn't have any curtain and you can see through inside if you peek through the patterned-shade glass window. The room also has balcony along the window and it's pretty wide and spacey therefore you can hangout at the balcony in the morning.

Facility: 9.5/10
This hotel has facilities such as FREE wi-fi service even in every room, quite big swimming pools, 2 lobbies and reception area (at the front and at the back), cozy restaurants and bar area. The hotel is located in a long rectangular area and hence it's a pretty long hotel if you walk from the front to the back of the hotel, but the layout is not very wide.

Hotel Staff: 10/10
Like usual in Bali, the hotel staffs are very friendly and pretty helpful in attending to all your needs.

Would I recommend this hotel to others?
Absolutely YES. I would even like to come back here to stay next time I am in Bali.
This hotel is also great if you are traveling with families with children.
